Professional career
Javier González holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency from the University of Zaragoza. He began his professional career as an engineer in the thermo-photovoltaic industry and in the construction of photovoltaic power plants.
In 2025, he completed an MSc in Data Science at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, shifting his focus towards data-driven technologies and artificial intelligence.
He is currently a PhD student at the University of Zaragoza, affiliated with the Instituto de Investigación en Ingeniería de Aragón and the Department of Computer Science and Systems Engineering. His research focuses on the deployment of large language models on resource-constrained devices, exploring on-device and edge inference, model optimization techniques such as quantization and parameter-efficient fine-tuning, and privacy-aware AI solutions in real-world scenarios with limited connectivity.
